While many of us have been involved in online reading groups since 1996, We
launched our own independent website on July 1, 2000 and now we have 30 groups
affiliated with us.
We have some wonderful Groups and Leaders that I hope all of you will check out!

So, what are we about?
We are providing a clear website where avid readers can find online communities
that support their interests!
Basically, Communication is the primary key to successful groups. A leader
"builds" their own community through their different
interactions...the "Site" we congregate at simply provides a central
area to allow this to happen.
But our concept is to continue to support viable reading groups through chat,
message boards, and expanding into e-groups, web pages, etc. We have
"expanded" our definitions of an online reading group so that any
viable group can participate with us!

We launched quickly last July to accommodate many Homeless Book Communities...so
we have been something of a work in progress. Our redesign is meant to make this
site attractive and easy to read and navigate.
We are not supported directly by any corporate entities. We are sensitive to the
feelings of many long time members and we will NEVER blast this site with
advertising banners on our content pages. We do have affiliations but they are
ALL located on ONE page...our Survival Mall.
If you only BOOKMARK one page (errrr...maybe two or three including your own

In fact...YOU can earn or win money too and ALL of these sites are secure and
safe to use!
Basically, most of this IS pocket change! We may call ourselves a .com but our
intent is to simply provide all of you with a good service; not to retire to
Tahiti with an IPO offer. We have no intent to charge anyone for our services!
We simply want to be self supporting to pay for a decent server and the software
we need to improve the site and expand services! So by initiating a purchase via
OUR links at the Mall IF you plan to buy something, YOU are helping US to
provide something special to YOU! And unlike our previous history at AOL, we
don't want to hang around to turn out the lights at one of the three sites we
worked at. We want to run this economically and with a a little bit of your
help, We CAN do it and its simply a Win Win for everyone!!

OK...So Content Wise...What Do We Plan To BE???
** We are set up and running to provide a central page for
active reading groups! But we are a COMMUNITY...and as such...We'd love to
involve any Avid Book Lovers!

** We know there are a few game players out there, sneaking in that Strike A
Match in between Slingo! So we will be providing a games area so you can find
all your internet games you love. We would also love to eventually provide
literary crossword puzzles or some of our own fun games. If anyone has some good

** Author chats will be a given! Many of our groups have great relationships
with MANY authors. Mystery Mavens, True Crime and some of our Romance Groups
have FREQUENT author chats!
** Many of you are aware that we use AIM chat rooms for many of our groups to
engage in chat with. Please understand that at this time, we found that AIM was
the most user friendly, and easily available to AOL, Non-AOL, Mac and PC users.
Please realize that we are aware that sometimes at night these rooms MIGHT get
difficult to enter. Its probably a combination of whether or not you are using
the Most Upgraded Downloads, along with whatever the AIM
server problems might be during busy times.
Lately, some of our groups have moved to java rooms at sites like e-group, at
least temporarily.
The Unhappy Fact is... there are NO perfect rooms that work for
EVERYONE on the Internet and we would like to develop some of our own higher
tech rooms in the future. They might not be as fancy, but hopefully with
an upgraded server we can provide a less frustrating chat environment. Because
of our current server commitments, we won't be able to do this until sometime in
2001.
